The Washington City Pageant was a very special event for the family. For the first time in our history, we had a member of the family participate in anything like this. We were so proud of our beautiful Rossaly; she looked like a rock star, and had such confidence that she radiated it.
The first time we saw her on that stage was when they girls participating had their opening number, Let It Go from Frozen, some wore a gold outfit and others a silver one. Rossaly was wearing the gold one, and out of everyone she wore that outfit the best, she was also one of the better dancers in that number.
Next was the sport-wear part of the competition, so each participant had to represent their favorite sport/dance activity. Rossaly came out in her hiking gear, since her favorite active activity is hiking on the weekend with her family, specially to Zion National Park.
Next was the talent part of the competition. Rossaly loves her culture so much and decided to do a folklorico dance number. She danced to El Jarabe Tapatio, and did such an amazing job! Her arms were strong throughout, and she smiled through the whole thing.
Following the talent part, there was the poise section of the competition, where the participants had to wear their evening gowns and model it to the judges and the audience. Meanwhile, the MC read a small biography on the contestants. What stood out the most about Rossaly's was that what matters most to her are her family, religion, and culture. Rossaly's dress was beautiful, she modeled it with such poise and confidence. At the end of this section, she was asked two questions which she answered very well, with great language.
It is easy to say that she was quite remarkable, and made the family so proud and happy.
